Leo - Rich Italian blend - Nero d'Avola, Aglianico, Dolcetto, SA - 2022
This wine is named after Dave's son Leo. The idea for this wine was a more complex, rich and age-worthy wine. It's the same components as disco but is much more Nero d'Avola dominant.
The Nero came in quite big and rich and we let it rest for a year in old French Oak barrels to soften things up a bit. Combined with the Dolcetto and Aglianico it is a true delight for those seeking a wine that brings together the best characteristics of each grape. Its opulent fruitiness, well-integrated tannins, and intriguing spice make it a standout wine on its own, deserving of contemplation. Additionally, it would be an exceptional companion for hearty dishes such as grilled meats, rich pasta dishes, or aged cheeses.
For those who appreciate wines with depth and personality, this blend promises an extraordinary and memorable experience. Enjoy it now, or let it age gracefully in the cellar to unravel even more fascinating layers over time.
